About Hana

Hana is located in Maui County, Hawaii. This city is situated in the eastern part of the island of Maui and is the most remote town in the state. Hana is a small city, having a population of 709.

It is a tourist place because we can find there the last undeveloped tropical paradise of the entire island. Tourists all over the world choose Hana as their vacation destination because of its attractions: from the magnificent views of the waterfalls, to the rough shoreline or the marvelous beaches.

There are many places to discover in Hana. 30 minutes away from the city you can admire Fagan's Cross- a memorial built on the hillside above Hana town. From here you can enjoy the view from the top of the picturesque Hana town and Hana Bay.

Tourists can enjoy a walk or take a sun bath on the beaches in the surroundings like: Hamoa Beach (voted one of Hawaii's most beautiful beaches), Koki Beach (a spectacular white sandy beach), Kaihalulu Beach (renowned for its cider beach and lagoons) and Waianapanapa State Park (a black sand beach). Around here you can swim, snorkel, dive, bodysurf or high surf.

At Hana Cultural Center & Museum, a living complex exhibiting housing and gardens can be admired artifacts from ancient times. Ten miles south of Hana is Haleakala National Park, Ohe'o Gulch (Seven Pools). Here you can enjoy the breathtaking views of magnificent waterfalls like Wailua Falls, lush rain forests and eucalyptus groves, the rugged eastern coastline, and the arid southern coast.

Hana Gardenland is located 3, 5 miles from Hana covering 5 acres of lush paradise retreat. This reservation is home for a lot of exotic flowers like orchids, heliconias, ginger, tillandsias and anthuriums. Near Hana you can visit Kahanu Garden, a botanical garden, part of the National Tropical Botanical Garden. This garden hosts Pi`ilanihale Heiau, the largest ancient temple in Polynesia dating back from the 16th century.
